What are Rudraksha beads and where are they available?
Rudraksha beads are the living seeds of a fruit. The Rudraksha tree is addressed as the Elaecarpus Ganitrus Roxb in the botanical world and the seeds from the fruit of this tree are the mystical Rudrakshas. The thorny contured surface of this bead is called Mukhi(face). If the percentage of trees based only on geographic distribution was to be considered then 70% are found in Indonesia. Nepal stands at 25% and India at 5%. It is the Nepal trees that produce larger Rudraksha seeds of high quality.
What is special about Rudraksha beads
Traditionally rudraksha beads have been used very commonly in Asia. The Yogis and monks wore throughout especially during spiritual practices. The beads empowered them to experience spectacular control over the mind. Thus wearing the rudraksha helps them meditate for a long span of time while experiencing tranquility, concentration and stillness.
Can We all wear Rudraksha ?

In what other way can Rudraksha control blood pressure ?

Rudraksha are also used in a unique therapy – the water therapy. In this process 3 beads of the 5 Mukhi Rudraksha are dipped in a glass of water overnight. This is done immediately after sunset. Next day after removing the beads, this water is to be consumed before any intake (before brushing the teeth). This energizes the digestive system and provides remedial benefits for digestive related ailments.
Is it that only Hindus can wear?
Rudraksha beads are meant for all. There is no religious discrimination which prohibits anyone from wearing them. It is the wearer’s willingness and faith that counts and religion has no role to play in wearing a Rudraksha.

Can one wear the combination of Different Mukhis?

How do we decide which combination of beads to wear ?

It all depends on whether you wish to compliment or enhance the power of the bead worn earlier by adding more Rudraksha to the existing Rudraksha mala. How soon can one feel the effect of wearing Rudraksha ?
Effect of wearing Rudraksha depends on individual to individual. Since each one of us has a different body structure, aura, etc. certain changes are observed almost immediately. Some others take a longer time. As per prior experience and acute observation it is advisable to wait for a span of 45-60 days approximately for the manifestation of the desired results. Rudraksha are the beads of the ever auspicious Lord Shiva. Wearing it brings all round auspiciousness in life and the bead is known to work continuously to benefit its wearer. At times the combination must be rechecked as it is possible that one may have failed to share some important details earlier. It is advisable to occasionally energize the beads chanting “Om Namah Shivay!” or the relevant seed mantra and abhishek is performed on auspicious occassions.
What are the tests for ascertaining the genuinity of Rudraksha?
The lab testing of Rudraksha is the only way to ascertain the genuinity of the bead without cutting or damaging it. The X-ray of this bead will show one how many internal seeds are encased within the faces of the Rudraksha.
Under the magnifying glass, cracks on the Rudraksha are clearly revealed.
Dropping it in boiling water melts the glue used to form higher Mukhi beads or Gauri Shankar by cutting and sticking smaller beads together.
The copper coin test or sinking beads test is not 100% accurate. A genuine Rudraksha can also float.

Can the family members keep interchanging Neck Malas, Japa Malas or Rudraksha beads?
The practice of interchanging of neck mala, Jap mala and Rudraksha bead needs to be avoided. There is a relationship between the wearer and the divine bead he/she is wearing. Once the Rudraksha combination is worn by a wearer, it is very personal and must not be shared with anyone. The Rudraksha can only be willed and passed on to the next generation.
Can ladies wear Rudraksha ?
Yes! As per scriptures women can and should wear Rudraksha. It is advisable to remove them for the period when nature is at work.
The natural we all wear Rudraksha ?
There are no barriers to restrict wearing a Rudraksha. Age, culture, geographic, sex and religious barriers do not bind the practice of wearing this bead of Lord Shiva. Yes! One and all can wear a Rudraksha or a combination of the beads.
How do we know which Rudraksha is good?
The shape and size of this bead become the source of confusion for many. One should refrain from worrying about this aspect. The Mukhi must be well defined. There should be zero cracks near the central hole. The bead should not be eaten by insects. Overall it has to be a well-defined healthy Rudraksha.
Can we wear Rudraksha when we have to go to a cremation ground ?
No! One should strictly refrain from doing so. It has to be removed before you step into a crematorium. This is a basic Vedic practice. This norm has to be adhered to very sincerely.
Does Rudraksha helps during panic attacks ?
Yes it does! Keep a large 5 Mukhi Rudraksha with you. One is relieved of nervousness, sudden state of shock, stress if the bead is held in the palm / fist. Place it in the right palm and hold tightly for at least 10 minutes. The body will start warming up and confidence will be regained.
What is the life of Rudraksha beads?
If the bead is well protected, preserved and maintained adequately, it exhibits a very long life span. It can be passed on for several generations.
